PRIVATE
Northern Lights Chase
Your night. Your guide. Your Arctic sky.
On a clear Arctic night, few sights compare to the northern lights dancing overhead. On a private chase, the night belongs to your group: your own guide and a minivan to yourselves.
Your guide reads the forecast in real time and takes you wherever the chances are best around Harstad and Narvik, or into Sweden. You get all of the guide's attention, whether that means help with your camera, the Sámi stories behind the lights, or simply quiet time under the sky.
No strangers, no shared van. Just your group and the lights.
The Tour
Since the van is yours, the whole evening is shaped around your group.
We decide departure time each evening based on the weather forecast. We always start between 17:30 and 20:30. We pick you up from your hotel and brief you on the plan: where we are heading and why.
Northern Lights require clear skies and solar activity. The route is never fixed. We go wherever conditions are strongest, clouds move and so do we. That is why we only chase the Northern Lights if we think there are good chances to see them.
Every tour is different. Every sky is a surprise.

Good to know
This tour is all about chasing the Aurora and you get to experience them. Bring WARM CLOTHES. Arctic winters can be freezing cold, and we can spend hours outside. Standing still makes it colder so bring warm clothes. We recommend a warm inner layer with wool, big jacket, ski pants, hat, scarf and gloves.
Food is not included. We recommend eating dinner before heading out. You're welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. We will provide hot drinks and simple snacks.
Driving distance
We drive towards the clear skies. Depending on conditions, we may drive anywhere from 30 to 400 km during the evening. The tour typically lasts 4 to 6 hours, it all depends on the weather and solar activity.
Photos included
During every tour we capture the evening for you. Photos from the night are shared with all guests after the tour. Bring your own camera or phone — your guide has a photography background and is happy to help you get the best shots.
High resolution files are available to purchase after the tour, so you can print quality prints when you get home.

Northern Norway winters can drop to –15°C or below. Standing still in the dark makes it feel colder. We recommend: thermal base layer (wool if possible), warm mid-layer, windproof jacket and trousers, insulated boots, warm hat, gloves and scarf. Bring your camera or phone if you want to capture the lights — your guide is happy to help you get the best shots.
