Northern Lights Chase
A small-group northern lights chase from Bjerkvik, Evenes, Harstad or Narvik, led by a local guide with Sami roots. We pick you up from your hotel. The forecast decides the route. Maximum 8 guests.
On a clear Arctic night, few sights compare to the Northern Lights dancing overhead. We take small groups to the best locations around Harstad and Narvik, or into Sweden, away from light pollution and into the open dark, where the sky becomes your theatre.
We decide departure time each evening based on the weather forecast. We always start between 17:30 and 20:30. We pick you up from your hotel and brief you on the plan: where we are heading and why. Northern Lights require clear skies and solar activity. The route is never fixed. We go wherever conditions are strongest. Clouds move, and so do we. That is why we only chase the Northern Lights if we think there are good chances to see them.
Every tour is different. Every sky is a surprise.

This tour is all about chasing the Aurora and you get to experience them. Bring WARM CLOTHES. Arctic winters can be freezing cold, and we can spend hours outside. Standing still makes it colder so bring warm clothes. We recommend a warm inner layer with wool, big jacket, ski pants, hat, scarf and gloves.
Food is not included. We recommend eating dinner before heading out. You're welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. We will provide hot drinks and simple snacks.
Driving distance
We drive towards the clear skies. Depending on conditions, we may drive anywhere from 30 to 400 km during the evening. The tour typically lasts 4 to 7 hours, it all depends on the weather and solar activity.

Northern Norway winters can drop to –15°C or below. Standing still in the dark makes it feel colder. We recommend: thermal base layer (wool if possible), warm mid-layer, windproof jacket and trousers, insulated boots, warm hat, gloves and scarf. Bring your camera or phone if you want to capture the lights — your guide is happy to help you get the best shots.
